Statement
I am a self taught, casual artist. Although I have enjoyed drawing and painting at various times over my lifetime, it has only been in the last few years, since I entered my seventies, that I have taken it up more seriously. Deciding to try something new, although I had used watercolour, graphite and acrylics in the past, I decided to try pastel and it has been quite a learning curve! With the help of on-line videos and other artists on art blogs, I have reached a level of proficiency I feel I can be proud of and I love the colour and texture of the medium. Although my work is realistic, I hope the viewer feels the mood of the piece as well as seeing beauty.
