Statement

I see the world in colour, light, forms and texture:as the late philosopher Alan Watts wrote "...our thoughts and ideas ARE nature, just as much as waves on the ocean and clouds in the sky." The place where the sea meets the shore and the beauty of the west coast are unlimited inspiration for my work. This piece was inspired by the droughts and wildfires dominating the summer months on our coast. Living on Hornby Island involves constant awareness of water use and water scarcity. The balanced beauty of the natural water cycle is evoked in this painting with reverence for its utmost importance for all living things.
